Gender and Local Government Programme Officers, Zimbabwe

Gender Links, a dynamic Southern African NGO headquartered in Johannesburg with an office in Zimbabwe, promotes gender justice and equality seeks to fill posts of Programme Officers based in Masvingo and Bulawayo. The main task of the incumbents, who will be expected to travel extensively, will be to work with Centres of Excellence for mainstreaming gender in local government, associated partners and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:

• Arrange logistics and manage budgets for local level workshops.
• Co-facilitate training in the various stages of the Centres of Excellence in Gender Mainstreaming for Local Government roll À“ out workshops;
• Monitoring and evaluation according to GL systems, policies and procedures.
• Report writing.

Qualifications, experience and skills:

• A social science degree or relevant work experience;
• At least three years’ experience in lobbying and working with local government on gender;
• Excellent written and verbal skills;
• Strong networking skills;
• Good training and facilitation skills;
• Good administrative and inter-personal skills;
• IT proficiency- knowledge of MS Office package like excel, word, PowerPoint, Outlook; willingness to learn web based M and E tools.
• Proficiency in at least one widely spoken local language in addition to English.
• Valid drivers’ licence
