Gender Researcher and Data Analyst À“ SADC Region

Gender Links, a dynamic Southern African NGO headquartered in Johannesburg that promotes gender justice and equality seeks to fill the post of Researcher and Data Analyst.

Key responsibilities:

  • Data collection, management, cleaning.
  • Qualitative and quantitative data analysis.
  • Administration, monitoring and evaluation.
  • Production of high quality knowledge and IEC materials.
  • Writing of high quality research, presentable reports which include graphic representation of data.
  • Work with country specific researchers in data collection and analysis.
  • Presentation of research findings.
  • Partner relationship management.
  • Dissemination of research findings and advocacy.

Qualifications, experience and skills:

  • Masters degree in Social Science, Gender and Development or other relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience in a research environment, experience working with both quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis.
  • Ability to extract data from global databases and reports.
  • Clear understanding of gender dimensions in the SADC region and global context.
  • Understanding of the gender equality agenda and the post 2015 regional, continental and global processes.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, SPSS and STATA.
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Knowledge of the SADC region will be an advantage.
  • A valid drivers’ licence.
