This five-year programme is implemented in the 15 countries of the Southern African Development Community (SADC). The programme aims to make governments and the media accountable for achieving gender equality and ending poverty in the SADC region through five core programme areas: (i) campaign for adoption and implementation of the SADC Protocol on Gender and Development (Gender Protocol), (ii) gender and governance, (iii) gender justice, (iv) making care work count campaign, and (v) promoting gender equality in and through the media. The overall purpose of the Mid-Term Review is to assess what should be improved for the remaining funding period vis-Á -vis key achievements, key implementation challenges, and lessons learnt.
