New kids on the block

A special addition to GL family, a baby boy born to Ialfine named Volahy Papisy Yohann – Congratulations! We can’t wait to see him running around GL offices.

Justine Samuels joined GL as a volunteer attached to Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation Unit. She is a cheerful and helpful young lady.

Robinah Valerie Sanyangore joined GL as Marketing and Logistics Officer on 25 October, 2010. She brings a wealth of knowledge working with NGOs and a good financial background.

Good Bye

Thabani Mpofu left in the middle of the month after a very brief stint with GL. He relocates to Zimbabwe but he will still remain Gender-linked working on Gender Policies with newsrooms in Zimbabwe and Zambia.

Capacity Building

Kubi Rama and Susan Tolmay attended moderator training off-site which was successfully completed.

GL as a dynamic and growing organisation, we are always changing.

October staff movement and promotions:
Sikhonzile Ndlovu was promoted from Media Training Manager to Media Manager.
Danny Glenwright was promoted from Editor to Communications Manager.
Mukayi Makaya was promoted from Marketing & Communications Officer to Alliance & Partnership Manager.
Seanna Chingamuka was promoted from GMDC Coordinator to Media Training Manager.
Vivien Bakainaga was promoted from Human Resource & Admin Officer to Human Resource Manager.
Mpumelelo Mlilo was promoted from Finance Officer to Finance and IT Coordinator.
Fanuel Hadzizi was promoted from Finance Assistant to Gender & Governance Programme Officer.

Office Spaces have also changed as GEMSA have moved into new offices in Johannesburg and their old space has been turned into the new Communications Unit. Other units have made minor shifts.
