Lesotho Country Manager

Gender Links (GL), a dynamic Southern African NGO headquartered in Johannesburg that promotes gender justice and equality seeks to fill the post of Lesotho Country Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Represent GL and manage its operations; ensure that all statutory obligations are met, and that the organisation enjoys a high profile and good reputation.
• Manage the gender justice and local government programme.
• Fundraise and manage donor relations.
• Manage the county budget in accordance with GL Policies and Procedures.
• Facilitate the growth of GL’s media and Alliance programmes, and ensure synergy between all programme work.
• Oversee the annual national Southern African Gender Protocol@Work summit.
• Manage partnerships with local organisations, government and development partners.

Qualifications, experience and skills

• A Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or relevant field.
• At least ten years’ experience in social and development work.
• Strong knowledge of the media.
• Strong knowledge of localities of Lesotho.
• Research, advocacy and training skills.
• Financial and fund raising skills.
• Excellent networking and inter-personal skills.
• Excellent verbal and writing skills in English and Sesotho.
• IT skills and its application in training.
• A valid driver’s license.

General conditions:
The post, which is for an initial period of two years, is based in Lesotho. GL will offer a competitive remuneration package commensurate with qualifications and experience.
