Procurement and Logistics Officer

Gender Links, a Southern African NGO based in Johannesburg specialising in gender, media, women’s rights and governance, seeks to appoint a Procurement & Logistics Officer for its Corporate Services unit.

Tasks:

  • Procurement of office supplies, equipment and services according to GL Procurement Policies and Procedures
  • Evaluating suppliers performance and reviewing framework agreements
  • Managing service providers and consultant contracts
  • Database administration for consultants, preferred suppliers and facilities databases
  • Sourcing the best economic travel quotes and liaising with the travel agent
  • Liaising with staff and arranging venues and accommodation for workshops
  • Attending to all logistics with regards to workshops like airport pick-ups and drop offs
  • Reconciliation of travel accounts
  • Generating monthly reports for the Procurement department on travel, logistics and cost savings
  • Training country office staff occasionally on procurement procedures
  • Supervising the driver and coordinating the driver’s daily schedule

Skills:

  • Tertiary education with specialised certification in procurement, administration or accounting;
  • At least 3 years experience in administration and accounting in the NGO sector;
  • Advanced knowledge of spreadsheets and Microsoft office programmes;
  • Ability to administer and execute procurement processes and transactions;
  • Good administrative and inter personal skills;
  • IT proficiency;
  • Able to handle pressure and is dynamic to change;

The above post is for an initial period of one year, based in Johannesburg, South Africa. A Competitive remuneration package will be offered, commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the successful candidates.
