IPS Workshop: Gender Links Advisory Services

Loga Virahsawmy and Kudzai Macombe facilitated a three-day IPS Workshop on “Women in Politics and the Media – Train the Trainer Programme” from 10 to 12 November.

Key features of the programme involved approaches to training adults, the SADC Protocol on Gender and Development, understanding gender and democracy, gender violence and politics, the electoral system, women in the news, gender and advertisements, training and presentation skills development to communicate effectively, electoral manifestos, developing personal profiles, advocacy issues for women in politics, gauging the impact of training and follow-up.

Local government workshops

Mary facilitated a series of workshops from the 15 to the 19 November at the Municipal council of Quatre-Bornes and Pamplemousses/Rivière du Rempart District Council.
